Dena van Dalfsen

TESOL Coordinator & Instructor; TESOL for Children Coordinator & Instructor

Dena van Dalfsen

Dena van Dalfsen has travelled widely and speaks three languages. Being a student of foreign languages herself, she understands the triumphs and frustrations of language students. Dena graduated from the University of Victoria with an English and Journalism degree and after winning an award for community journalism, became TESOL certified and taught in Korea, Mexico and Argentina. Dena has been part of the TESOL team at KGIBC-CTC for 6 years.

Pete Hall

Pete Hall

Pete Hall attended Simon Fraser University, graduating with a B.A in Physical Geography and well as a B.Ed in Teaching. He earned his TESOL Diploma from Vancouver Community College. Pete is an adventurer by heart, and has combined his love for travelling and his passion for teaching and taught in many different countries around the world, including Tanzania, Korea and China. His motto is: "If there are no students in your class, could you do what you are planning to do? If the answer to this question is yes, then don't do it!”

Luc Corijn

Business Management Coordinator & Instructor

Luc Corijn

Luc has been with KGIBC-CTC in different capacities (Business program instructor, KGIBC-CTC Director, and Business Management Coordinator) since August 2000. Before arriving in Canada, Luc worked as English Department Head at a prestigious private high school in Jamaica, and served as Chief Foreign Exchange Dealer with the world’s largest bank in Japan. Luc obtained a BA in Oriental Languages and Culture (Ghent University, Belgium), a Master’s in Theoretical Economics (Hitotsubashi University, Japan), and a Master’s in Religious Education (St. Mark’s College, Vancouver). He has been teaching for 15 years.

Yuki Kim

Interpreting & Translation Korean Coordinator & Instructor

Yuki Kim

Yuki Kim has a BA in education and has extensive teaching experience with various age groups from kindergarten children to adults in different settings. She has taught in Canada, Korea, and Mongolia, making an impact on the lives of both the gifted and the underprivileged. She also has provided unparalleled services to numerous organizations and people, including police officers and lawyers, as an interpreter and translator. She joined KGIBC-CTC in 2015, enriching the program with her relentless educational fervor. Armed with a great sense of humour, she is a passionate and charismatic individual, always striving for excellence. Uncompromising when it comes to quality in education, she believes learning never stops and continues to find ways to grow and challenge herself.

Carole Moran

Carole Moran

Carole feels honoured to be working with her wonderful and motivated international students here in beautiful downtown Vancouver and maintains that her biggest rewards come from her student's successes. Following a successful corporate career, the attainment of both her Master's Degree and her TESL Canada certification, Carole made the decision five years ago to travel down the very satisfying path of teaching English. Since joining KGIBC-CTC over three years ago, Carole has enjoyed teaching many varied courses and is now thrilled to be coordinating and instructing the very successful TESOL for Test Preparation certificate program.
